The NWAC is a group of area artists working in diverse disciplines, including theater, dance, comedy, poetry/spoken word/storytelling and visual art. They meet to support each other as artists and also to share a mutual goal of nurturing the arts in Wake Forest and environs. The Neck of the Woods Performance Series is a monthly performance event, organized by NWAC, that showcases the work of local artists. This successful series has provided a much-needed venue for performing artists, and also contributes to the nightlife here in Wake Forest. The series events are announced and promoted through the Meetup website, which requires about $150 dollars/year to operate and is currently in danger of being discontinued because of lack of funds.
